Too cool not to merit a shoutout–Sixth & I
is offering a $3,500-value wedding in their gorgeous
sanctuary to one lucky couple who produces a 30-second vid about why they deserve this special honor. Any level of Jewish observance is eligible (the being Jewish part is probably implied. :P)
More information is here. Check it out! Final deadline’s on August 23rd.
…one has to wonder, what’s behind Sixth & I’s choice? Are they hoping that the winner possesses the pizzas to pull something like this off? Like everyone else, Sixth & I has been swooning over that video. 😛
Either way, maybe they’ll publicize the winning vid promo to let us see what it takes to get a free wedding!

My blogging abode, from which I write about Jewish DC / photo taken by Rachel Mauro
A couple of weeks ago, I was offered the wonderful opportunity to contribute to NextGen’s new blog, Young Leadership in DC. Today, my first post went live!
I’m so excited, not only to be writing more broadly for the Jewish world, but also that the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington has taken this step to chronicle their activities online. It’s a great way to bring the community together in the digital age, as well as to remind people what awesome cultural programming we have here in DC. 😀 I urge you to check back often!
For more of J-Fed online, click here for Twitter and the NextGen and DC Birthright Israel NEXT’s Facebook pages. Our Birthright alums chapter has a new Facebook fan page as well!
Personal note: I will again be out of town this weekend as I go on vacation, and will be unable to post upcoming events this Sunday. Also, allow me to wish wish this blog (and myself) a happy, informal birthday! 😀

There are still slots open at the Washington, DC Jewish Community Center’s blood drive tomorrow (Wednesday.) Time slots are 15 minutes apart, ranging from 4:30 to 8:30 pm. They’re suggesting on keeping an hour free around the appointment, but there will be sweets used as enticement! 😛
Some stats from the webpage: Every 17 seconds, someone in DC needs blood, but only 5% of the population donates. In the Jewish tradition of tzedakah, or charity, you should become part of that 5%!
Personal note: I will be out of town this weekend to visit with family, and will unfortunately not be able to post upcoming events this Sunday. I hope you have a great week!
